Stuart moved to live in the Ulladulla community in 2021 when he took the position of Services Coordinator at the Ulladulla TAFE campus. For the last three years Stuart has built strong relationships across local community, educational, business and industry groups. He is an active member of the Milton-Ulladulla RSL Sub-branch, the Southern Shoalhaven Interagency forum, and the Milton-Ulladulla Business Chamber.

Prior to working for TAFE NSW, Stuart enjoyed a career of over 34 years with the Australian Defence Force. During this time, he developed experience across a broad range of areas. He has specialist knowledge of training, extensive experience in command, leadership and management, and in-depth understanding of capability acquisition and development.

Stuart has proven experience over many years in leadership and management, having commanded RAAF Number 4 Squadron from 2011 to 2013, been Director of the Air and Space Operations Centre from 2014 to 2015, commanded RAAF 42 Wing from 2016 to 2017 and having been the Director General of Australian Defence Force Joint Collective Training from 2019 to 2021.

Stuart was awarded the Distinguished Service Cross (DSC) for his command and leadership of the Australian Air Task Group during combat operations in the Middle East region in 2015 and he was appointed a Member of the Order of Australia (AM) in 2019. He has a Bachelor of Science, a Bachelor of Teaching, is a graduate of the Australian Defence Strategic Studies Course, and has a Masters in Strategic Studies.

Moving to Ulladulla has allowed Stuart to also pursue his interests in golf and fishing.
